I would like to install a stereo set, a front power windows and central locking on the swift diesel. Should I get it done at the dealer itself? Is it OK if I get it done at a reliable car accessory shop? One more doubt- Is it necessary that i get the power windows and central locking fixed of the same company itself? | Reply: Hi....sorry for the delay in replying...its better to have it fixed at the dealer point. Sinc its a new car if u do it outside they u might loose warrenty if the cut the wires.Or else the car accessory wala should be combetent to use approprate sockets and plugs so that he does not tamper the wiring, Regarding power windows and central locking it need not be the same company...but if it is the same company both will have some common functions ..like if the dors are closed and ign is off atomaticly the glasses will roll and close. |

| Reply: its a very good choice and gud colour too...if the tyre size is big it gives more road grip mileage reduces a little. very very The cost for good alloy per piece will be rs 3000 to 5000.
to exchange price for old tyre will be approx rs 1000 and the cost of new tyre will be around rs 4000. u have to change atleast 4 nos.fixing u can do anywere. |

From June 2002 till Feb 2008
% increase in petrol prices in rupees 52.04%
% increase in diesel prices in rupees 74.82%
% increase in crude oil prices in dollars 316.05%
% increase in rupee compared to the dollar -19.34%
Crude oil prices have increase by 316% from 2002. The price rise has not been passed on to the Indian consumers. For them the price of petrol has increased by 52.04% where the price of diesel has increased by 74.82%. The subsidy burden is borne up by ONGC, GAIL, HPCL, BPCL and the Govt of India.
Passing on the increase in crude prices on to the Indian consumer will lead to rise in inflation and a lower economic growth rate. It will also lead to lower tax collection but the subsidy burden of the government will also reduce. Increasing the petrol and diesel prices will have the following effects
1. Increase in inflation as transport will become expensive which will increase prices of all goods
2. Decrease in growth rate due to higher inflation
3. Decrease in government subsidy
4. Decrease in income tax as the expenditure of the government on the subsidy will be reduced and higher dividend from oil and gas companies
5. Investment in alternate energy sources like solar, wind and renewed focus on ethanol blending
By not increasing the price of petrol and diesel in line with crude oil prices the effects are
1. Inflation is under control
2. Increase in economic growth as the government is subsidizing transport cost of goods
3. Increase in government subsidy
4. Inability to reduce taxes as any increase in tax collection is used to subsidize the petrol and diesel cost
5. Lesser funds available for public services
By keeping petrol and diesel prices low the increase in tax collection due to higher economic growth should help offset some of the subsidy burden.
The Govt is using tax money paid by a few to subsidize the cost for all.

| Reply: We use the decompression lever to ease the piston past TDC on compression. When the kick started. Yes needed for both versions.
To start the engine we have to fin the find top dead center
on the compression stroke , this is easily done just by closing the
compression release , pushing the kick start lever down until feeling
resistance . One only needs to apply the compression release
momentarily to advance the kick start lever a little farther . This
is the same as using the ammeter which serves as a TDC indicator

| Reply: only one posibility is the a/c vent..there is a recirculation mode and direct mode..in direct mode the air is taken from outside so dust will come inside even if filters are there..put the a/c switch to recirculartary mode. if u are using recircultory mode then ck with the dealer whether its working.. |

| Reply: sunoj..i think i had answered the question...u have asked two different things..EFI is electronic fuel injection engine...CI engine is Combustian Ignetion engines..these will be diesel engines..petrol engines are SI engines "Spark Ignetion" these will be petrol engines..regarding high rpm..if its a carburettor engine reduce the Idle speed..if its an MPFI..tune it with the ecu computerat the dealer point. |

4. Municipal Tax = 10% of excise tax = 7.183 Baht

| I drive a Ford Fiesta. Sometime back it had a gas leak issue with the AC which was corrected. But since then there seems to be a foul smell in the car which sometimes causes soffocation and much discomfort. I have tried to keep away the odour by regulating the outside air and by using different car perfumes. But nothing seems to work. I even had the car checked by AC mechanics a couple of times. Used a Neutralizer spray from Gulf Oil and a couple of other products which others suggested. Still the smell persists. Can you please suggest any other effective solution to this problem? |
| Reply: first we have to find out the origin of the smell..ac gas dosent have any smell..a probable cause is that the outside air vent is always open and if its a petrol vehicle it will give a foul smell from the exhaust mainly when it is reversed to a climb...solution is to correct the functioning of the outsde air vent and to ck the air tightness of the doors and glases.. |

Earlier we used to get adulterated fuel..ie fuel mixed with kerosine..now its not that easy..main thing is availability of kerosine and its colour...if it use adulterated fuel it will definitely damage ur engine for checking there is density chart available in pumps also u can ck the density of the fuel there and compare with the chart. The dencity of the fuel supplied will b noted in the oil company bill. Moreover from the central government there are surprise cks in which they can find adulteration if one litre is mixed in 4000 liters

| I am jithesh from Calicut.I have a 2000 model Maruti 800 with me.Recently I converted the vehicle to LPG and changed the Oil and Replaced the Coolant same time.Now i am facing the problem is "Automatically radiator and reservior coolant will become very low even after 15KM drive.I met a local mechanic at calicut ,he is telling that the FAN working fine and there is no problem with the head gasket also.He is suspecting the problem with the Engine.But i am not believing.I had a bad experience with the same mechanic earlier.I also checked the coolant leakage and all.But i am sure there is no leakage to outside.Pls mention the coolant level also.I think both radiator and reservior should be maximum level when the engine cold. am i correct?Pls replyJithesh |
| Reply: when the engine is hot the coolent expands and the reservetank will be full but when it is cool down the level will go down in the reservoir but the nothing will happen in the raditor. Pl ck the enging oil for traces of coolent..if ok give the radiator for a pressure test there might be very small holes where we cannot see the leakeage once its hot it will get evaporated..this can be clarifies by a pressure test. |

| Reply: Earlier in old cars we use to do it. in modern cars u don't have to but for vehicles with turbo it is good to keep the vehicle idle for atleast 30 sec before turning off the ign. we need to give some time for the turbo to stop...but just imagine u stopping suddenly after running 100mts for accuring normal heartbeat we will walk a little. This can be applied to vehicles also turn off ign after a few sec.no need of raising the engine. |

this is not a problem if ur fuel in the tank falls a min level the deflections will be more..but on level road the gauge will be correct..this is because of the float of the fuel guage. |

| Hi,My Palio 1.2 Petrol completed 52000 Km, nowadays is shaking too much on bad roads. Severe vibrations can be felt all over the body when driven fast through bad roads. The front and back throws too much on riding over bumps. Is that because of a weak strut? Do I need to replace the Coil Spring and Rubber mountings while replacing the Strut? e bikes are ecconomical...if u have a daily use of certian kms ..itbwill be good.The speed depends upon the model and make of the bik ..on an average u can say around 60kmph...the batteries again depends upon the make...nornmally the manufactures specifys an ceritian nos of recharging..may be 500...may be 2000 etc. maintennce cost will be less.... |
